Are they using same encryption for the HD channels as the SD ones? i.e. Nagra 2 at the moment? Is it just a case of getting a Euro EX 7000 box and rescanning ( presuming the euro ex supports N2?)

Yes, same encryption as there is a fix for the EX7000 for N2,

check out the boxs working hints and tips thread for the fix for that box.

Has anyone in Ireland actually picked these up on a EX7000 box? In dub?

The question is why should UPC use N2 for the HD channels.
There are no HD subscriber boxes with N2 cards.

Very true, they would be idiotic to have 1800/01 process running on em.

There are no Sky HD channels at VM networks.
VM offering third party HD channels which are also offered via Sky but not owned by Sky.

I have tested these streams and I can confirm they are only on the 1802 stream as of this afternoon.

Don't think UP< would be that stupid to leave them on the 1801 on stream as they are all brand new HD boxes with band new ROM142 cards.

How they have not knocked any of the other channels of the 1801 stream up to now is beyond me, they must be having some serious issues as they must have swaped out the bulk of the subs cards with premiums by now!

Maybe its a much bigger job then the last card swap they done!

Hopefuly we will get till xmas out our our boxes !!

Virgin only got them because the UK have some competition law in place....not the case in Ireland
