I have an xbox that came with a stock Hitachi 79 Drive. If for some reason I was to brick it or I just wanted to get a new one, could I buy anyone or am i stuck to Hitachi 79? Would I need to do any Motherboard modfications? Do some DVD drives produce better load times and Whats the difference really because I know of all these people that say they love their Samsung or their Benq, but I wanna why? lol, alot of questions im wondering. Thanks lol

Benq and liteons are the best, they are quiet and reliable, but liteon are tricky to dump. You can change your dvd drive to anyone.

Next time search, all these answers could have been found easily

You cannot just throw it in the xbox. It will not work. You will need to spoof any drive you get.

yes, this is what i wanted to know. I wanted to know what i had to do to make any drive work on the xbox. I mean if the motherboard is used to working with a hitachi and i suddenly throw a benq in there, im obviously going to have some problems. Thanks alot.
