i have an episode disk a dvd9 disk
i tried using dvd shrink but the finished product is worse than a tv rip

i tried extracting the vob's to split on 2 disks but it turns out that each vob contains different parts of an episode i assumed that each vob was an entire episode

so can anyone help me?

Try Shrink in Re-author mode. Drag over individual Track 1, Track 2, etc. till you get what you want on a backup. You will lose menu function - something you may not want to lose with an episode dvd. Try CloneDVD2 30 day trial.

luck

There is a free app available called "DVDstripper". It allows for selective removal of "extras" while maintaining a fully functional menu. You could easily use this app to split your ep DVD-9 to 2 disks. It is quite easy to configure & use. The link below will give you a better introduction :-

Where can I get this program? Every one I've d/l'ed (from google searches) is missing an .ocx file. I can't find it here or on it's home website.

I have been using Pinnacle Instant Copy for all of my back-ups and I have backed up both volumes of Family Guy (7 disks all together)and all were flawless. And I keept all of the menus and special features and it looks great. I have also backed up Curb Your Enthusiasm Season one and it looked great as well. This is the single best DVD-9 to DVD-5 back program out there and I have used pretty much all of them. I have used DVD Shrink, Pinnacle Instant Copy, Intervideo DVD Copy, and Nero Recode 2, but Pinnacle Instant Copy is the best hands down.
