I have flashed 78/79, no problem. I got a drive here that is hitachi 59 and no version of jungleflasher will even see the drive. I have had all kinds of different errors with it. I have gotten so far as to get the original firmware and the key. Then i get a failed at ram poke message.
Tonight I decided to give it another go and now jungleflasher will not even detect the drive. What am I doing wrong. I am using the via 6241 card, whatever the numbers are. I have flashed every other drive but never ran into a 59.
Can i get a little help please?
Have you tried putting it into mode B? Jungle Flasher will usually do this, but if it isn't, there are alternate methods. You could also try using a Slax CD or special audio CD to put it into mode B.
I have had it into mode b, that doesnt seem to be the problem. Now jungle flasher isnt even seeing it and I have never got jungle flasher to see it on the com port, just port I/O, the only version of jungleflasher that will even let me use port I/O now is version 1.55. Do I have something set up wrong for this type of drive. I havent been able to find any good tutorial for this specific drive.
Iprep is out of the question, dont like it and I have never used Dosflash. I just dont get why it wont detect the drive tonight. I have never had a problem with any other hitachi drives. I am at a loss.
all i said is that i dont use Iprep, my computer does not seem to like it. I have been reading up on Dosflash and I am going to try that.
I would like to continue using jungleflasher if I could, that is why I asked the question.

I had this problem with a Hitachi 59 (exact RAM Poke issue). Never could overcome it. Tried SLAX, PortIO, WinAPI. Couldnt get a bootable device to run dos flash and iprep always given errors. Hope you get a answer as it will prolly solve my issue too :D
