Hello guys

I have a an XBOX360. I bought this from abroad with loads of backup games. All work fine. I have also been downloading games and burning them on DVD they also work fine.

What I need to know is how do I identify if my box is chipped or softmodded? and if softmodded then by what.

Open up your XBOX 360. Look for a modchip, if not, then it's flashed.

Ok cool - How would I identify a modchip as the box contains many chips. Also if I dont find a modchip. Is there any way to know what is it flashed with?

99% percent likely to be flashed firmware. You find out by connecting the drive to your computer with a SATA cable and running a tool like Jungle Flasher.
