What apps do you need to launch wii backups on 3.4v , I tried wiigator but it does not work, the icos fails at end of load. I do not want to downgrade my wii, is there anything i can do.

I have fw 3.4u ser# lu65, so I downloaded the lu64 and above fix. When I try to install ios16 with wad manager I get " retrieving device contents, please wait... error! (ret = -1". In what folder on the sd do I put the ios16 and the lu64.wad for the wad manager and custom wad manager to use them. I am very new to this and done alot of reading but the 3.4u is hard to find info on. Thanks
