wire a new eject button?

My console wont eject due to a bad eject button on the mother board i have tried soldering a new one on with no luck, i was wondering if any one has a tut on wiring a momentary switch to open and close the dvd try.
I have done this many times on pc dvd drives by following the wires on the eject button and just wiring a new switch, worked very well.
After searching high and low for 2 weeks straight, i have not found a single bit of information on this subject maybe some one can help me out if this is even do able. Thanks!!

yup the tray closes and opens fine from the dash board plus i installed it in to another 360 and it ejects from the switch fine there.

you put a new button on the board? Either that or solder just needs reflowed or resoldered.

Worst case scenario you will be able to eject the tray through the dashboard after August 11.

i re soldered a used switch on the board that one might have been bad to. so there adding an open tray option when theres a game in it with the new update? what other features are they adding?

Thanks for the link. not much i'm interested in my self, well time to pray to the gods that we don't all get banned for our backed up games and costume firmware..... /sad panda!

I hope this isn't another ban wave though, my unmodded xbox is broken and my other two are modded, if it is a ban wave then I won't be on live for a while.

i have about 6 consoles all modded, im not a huge live fan but i like to keep up to date with game updates etc it might be time for me to remove the wireless adapter from the back of my 360 for a bit, at least till we find out if it is another ban wave.

Dont think that would help, you would just get banned when you eventually log back in.
