Watch out when buying xboxes on ebay!!

I have bidded on 4 different auctions for xboxes. Every single auction I won. When I got the xboxes each one was put together from other boxes. 4 different serial numbers and even hitachi drives in 2008 boxes. All from different sellers. I got my money back since I paid by paypal, but what a bunch of crap. Then the sellers cry when they get a bad feedback by breaking the law. They did refund my money, but I believe a negative is what they deserve for trying to rip me off. What do you guys think?

i agree thats why i will only buy xboxs with the sticker still in place ( even then you can get screwed if they use a heat gun to put a new one on) but i have been lucky thus far, bought about 5 or so and they were in great shape and all the right drives etc

I think that type of thing should be indicated in the auction, but I also think you should ask if the console has ever been opened and for what reason if you buy them on eBay.

I did and they all lied. One I got today they tried to pull a good serial sticker off another case. Of course it didn't match even the front one. He's making it right with me. Still pisses me off.

Were they rrod or working? I bought a rrod xbox a few months ago advertised as never opened or attempted to fix, I opened it up and it had the x-clamp fix done to it.

I sell xboxs on ebay all the time. I clearly indicated what I have done to them though, usually the seals are intact, but if not, I say that I have put a new drive in, just whatever i do to them.
The first one I ever bought off ebay was soppose to work. I got it, played for 2 days, got an e74 error. I opened it up and someone had tried to do an xclamp fix, very bad job too. The thing is the seal was in perfect shape. They went through some trouble to rip me off of that $80
