Xbox 360 VGA HD AV Cable Sound Question

hi i want to buy the Xbox 360 VGA HD AV Cable but i heard that you need a converter to convert it to 3.5 mm, but i was wondering if i only plug in my monitor to my 360, then connect the headset to the wireless controller, will i be albe to hear sound???

to clarify it this is what i'm talking about:

1. plug in my xbox 360 to my computer monitor
2. leave the audio cables standing there
3. turn on the xbox 360
4. plug in my headset to my wireless controller
NOTE AT THIS POINT THE AUDIO CABLES ARE NOT YET PLUGGED IN!

I have one :)

it also comes with a female/female VGA adapter.

If you get a turtle beach headset you'll be able to hear everything. They're expensive but worth it.
