Flashing LiteOn using Dummies book question

I've been preparing to flash my 360 for a month now and I think I read and watch all the ways to flash liteon. My question is:

Can I flash my lite-on DG-16D2S using the "Flashing 360 for dummies"(Textbook 2008") using old ixtreme and then just update the firmware so I don't need the probe, max232, or any connectivity kit?

I would use the Jungle Flasher tutorial because I don't think the Textbook for dummies has been updated with the process for the Lite-ON.

Oh, ok. I'll check that tutorial. I was trying to understand all the process of Retro-rc's video tutorial and the Dummies book I didn't realize that there is another tutorial..

I've got a STOCK Lite-ON walkthrough and the Jungle Flasher tutorial linked in my signature.
