Golf Game On Wii Sports Resort - Straight Swings

I cant ever swing the golf club without the meter going off center, even if I do a practice shot and swing the remote slowly and keeping it straight, the meter always goes off to the side. I'm thinking it may be some kind of calibration issue with the motion plus or sensor bar issues. I know for a fact I'm holding the remote correctly. I dont have this problem when playing other Wii Sports Resorts games or golf on Tiger Woods PGA 10 at all.

Any suggestions? Anyone else with related issues?
