I know a lot of the GOTY editions and DLC of games don't verify correctly on abgx. This being a Gold edition, does the same go for it, and is there any way get it to verify. I've heard of some people verifying these games somehow, but i'm not sure how true it is. Any one have an ideas on how to get this to verify? I don't want to play it until I have it verified to be Xbox Live safe. Anybody have any ideas?
Not that I am the safest or smartest person, but usually if everything else checks out except for that one .ini file, I'll just burn it and play it anyway.
The only time I avoid this is when I think there is a source for a game that that is not a retail disc. For instance, if a game broke release dates to get released early. In that instance, the source of the rip could be a retail disc....or it could be some other type of disc, like a review disc, which obviously wouldn't be safe.
When everything else passes except for that .ini file, it means that your disc's info seems legitimate, but that it has no record of seeing that exact combination of SS/XEX in its database. They store known good .ini files, from verified retail rips, in their database.
As you can imagine, there are several reasons for not having a verified .ini, from that particular game, especially a gold edition, not being submitted to them, to the game being an illegitimate copy. I'd bet on the former, rather than the latter.
So, in other words, as long as I rip these myself with a Kreon or make sure that I get the rip from a legit place, everything should be good. It just won't show in abgx until someone uploads it there. Not sure how someone hasn't upped it yet, since it's an old game, but oh well.
