network card issue. You will need to reflow to fix this one.

What is the secondary error code? E73 is general hardware failure, pretty much impossible to fix without replacing most of the xbox (depending on what is wrong).

It depends on what secondary error code you have. E73 is general hardware failure, so there are a lot of possible causes. I've had E73 (secondary error code 1021) on my xbox twice now and I've read it is caused by a faulty ethernet port, and the only fix is to replace it.

You need a reflow machine to reflow an xbox. It is possible to reflow it with a heatgun, but I wouldn't advise that.

With a reflow machine, they cost several thousand dollars. It melts the solder, hence the name reflow.

Well, a few people on afterdawn.com own reflow machines, you could ask on of them. I think they charge about $40. Other than that you could do it with a heat gun, but i've never tried it out myself so I'm not sure of how well it works.

You need a specific strength heatgun, I'm not quite sure of which one though. Heatguns cost about $60.

The idea is to make the heatsinks squeeze down on the chip/solder while applying heat so it melts and rejoins the solder points.

Just tighten the hell out of the screws, apply heat (I used a fan heater), let cool, dismantle, put back together with screws at a medium tension. Wa-la.

Hairdryer, heatgun, heater, whatever.

As long as you can get it hot.

Don't fry it, the heatsinks should pretty much burn your finger but only after a second or two of holding it on it.

This is an extremely dodgy way of fixing a 360 but you said you were desperate, so...

The other option, like everyone said, is to find someone who can do a proper reflow. The way I'm talking about is a home-made alternative, it can work though (I did it to mine and it's going great).

alright so you just tighten the screws really tight, then heat the heatsinks up, then dismantle it and then what?

Put it back together, and make the tension ('tightness') of the screws not heaps tight, not loose, just nice and snug - medium tension.
