I was reading about connecting your 360 to your laptop via hdmi and i was wondering is there any extra componet needed , iread something about a tv tuner can someone explain this to me
That HDMI port on your laptop is for output, not input. What are you trying to do would definitely need some sort of tuner card.
If you want that for your laptop, your options are to either get a PCMCIA or a PCI-Express (is that what they are calling them?), that works faster. I am willing to bet that they are expensive and may or may not perform to expectations, though.
Thanks for your response , but I tried googling different PCI-E cards for laptops and im not having any luck , can you link me to one so I can check out how it looks

You will not find a PCI-E card for your laptop, these are for full size PC's. You need the PCMCIA tuner card.
