The error is "no com ports found during enumeration" isn't it?
If so, that's fine. It just means you don't have a com port/serial port.
Not sure about the other one.
To be sure, you could always put it on the 1st sata port.

Hey guys I still got the error but I did get the drive to appear in the drop down menu. I had to go to device manager and scan for hardware changes then refresh the list. Hopefully the changes error I still got through JF does not matter since it appeared in my list this time.

Good. Sounds like you're making progress. Once you get it down once, you will be able to do it over and over.

haha I am so scared to proceed. The next step in the tutorial is to dump it. I dont want to get it bricked my other modded xbox has red ring so I have no more after this one. I havent seen a section to unlock it yet. Maybe that comes after I dump it

You just have to go to the Hitachi tab and click unlock and it will do it all for you. It's easy.
The bricks don't happen when you're dumping, they happen when you're flashing. It's perfectly safe to dump.

This is crazy. This always happens to me. Every time I do something I have such a hard time when I have to get done in a timely fashion. WHen I took my whole xbox apart I must have done something to the eject button because it will not eject when I press the button I have to use the controller to do so. Since I have to press the controller to do so I cannot get the unlock cd to stay in the tray without getting an error. I read the trick is to press eject three times but it doesnt work the same with a controller.

In mode B you have to press eject 2x to get the drive to open.
I would recommend looking into fixing that eject button, but in the mean time what you can do is manually open the drive if you need to. There is a little hole under the side of the tray where you can poke a paperclip and make the drive open.

Go back to the main tab and query your drive. See what firmware it reports.

Dump the firmware again. Save it as a different file so you don't overwrite your first one. This is very important.
Then load the newly saved dump as either source or target firmware and it will tell you all about the firmware on the drive.

Is it good to go with now? Also, during the process I made two saves but both were the same name and I though that was strange. I saved the first one in a folder and the flash version or I thought it was on desktop. So I want to dump this file then manually choose it again?

Yes, dump it as, for instance, c:\firmware\testdump.bin
Then go back to the FirmwareTool 32 tab and hit Open Target Firmware. Now navigate to c:\firmware\ and select testdump as your file.
Now in the middle of the JF window, where it says Target, it will give you the info for the firmware you loaded (your dump).

Yes, that was your target firmware file when you went to flash the drive. Hopefully that's what got flashed onto your drive. But you don't know for sure since you've never done it before, so rather than putting your Xbox back together to check it, you can just redump it and check it.
