Open Tray Error VAD6038

I just replaced the laser lense unit (HOPX-141) on my Benq VAD6038 & I am still getting the Open Tray Error. The motor in the drive is still good & the rails are lubed with silicon. I believe I need to adjust the height of the rails as 3 of the screws holding them in place are flush with the bottom side of the drive and one is showing a thread or two. My problem is I cannot find any other info on this particular problem by google searching through other forums (xbox-scene, llama, afterdawn, etc) . Has anyone else had this problem and fixed it by adjusting the rail heights? If you fixed the problem some other way could you post your results/a tutorial? If there is a sticky for this please let me know - I searched but could not find much. Thanks in advance.

not sure what you mean, anti-static point? is there a diagram of the guts of this drive somewhere? that might help..man i'm so lost.

so these instructions should really come with the replacement HOPX-141 unit but for the price (8.99 each) i can't complain. can someone clean up this thread or at least add the bit about desoldering to some sort of faq. thank you (leerage & wabashman) for showing me the way & saving me a ton of money. :)
