For those of you that have flash modded consoles and have taken the risk and did the update today, do your backup discs still play? Thanks in advance for your responses.

The update is not a risk. The only risk is your prior behavior of potentially modding your system and the quality of rips you used.
Log onto Live and answer your own question.

unless you had a cat with alienproof antennas and a copper penny balancing on the tip of your wireless router while helicoptering your ding dong to the theme song from titanic... you're backups are now useless.

what, yours still play? wtf is going on with mine then? i went to put in a copy of COD5, and it just scratched it all to hell for some reason, put in a real copy of COD modern warfare 2, and it plays it just fine and dandy like. that is retarded that your backups play and mine dont.

I had to coat them in peanut butter and then scrub them clean with a tooth brush in order for them to play. So time consuming....

Maybe a stupid question but if I am rebuffing my old games for the update, since the mini-groove edges of the double-layered surface of the burned DVD contains micrographs, approximately how much pressure should I exert upon my regulation-size toothbrush if I am making counterclockwise rotations and using peanut butter with a crunch factor of 0.042 and a pH of 4.3?

I recommend using Peter Pan Peanut Butter. You get an added coating of fairy dust to protect from scratches in the future.

Thanks for the advice but I always do "home brew" peanut butter for my disc re-buffing after updates. You can really control the quality that way!

lol! Thanks CawkFour. I'm hoping somewhere in between all the joking around, I might get some actual responses...it was worth a shot! Eventually, I'll have to do the update and just see what happens. I just wanted to see if I should wait for a new version of firmware (1.7?) first.

Really, no one is sure what is going on with the banning, so it's hard to answer right now.
I know there's no proof that I can give, but I have a feeling that this is just people freaking out, just like y2k (minus the stocking up on water and canned goods)..
