So, hopefully you guys have been doing your "duty" and keeping up with the scene, seeing and reading everything that has been happening. If so, then you might/should already know about the drama that has happened since the whole foundmy.com website had originally offered new liteon key extractions for $42 (and then a free version was released).

I also hate to say this....but....
There's a good chance that because of all the drama, the politics, and the internal dissension about all of this, that there might not be another IX released for the next drive.
I said and said and said that the possibility exists that by releasing this method you might shoot yourselves in the foot. Well, at this time and point, it appears that you've taken your foot off....but not with a gun. With a Axe. Just because the apple fell to the ground because the coyote nipped at it change the fact that it fell off the tree.
Sorry guys. Im desperately trying to salvage things, but I think its at the point of no return. Fucked. really really fucked.
Let's hope that this doesn't happen...

Iriez trying to fix what HE started. Just because the algorithm to decrypt the dvdkey for the 83850C was released publicly, THE SCENE IS DEAD!!! Please... from the get go Iriez dug himself this hole.

Couldn't agree more. What, because iX stops all future firmware dev. stops? I seriously doubt that. There were firmwares before iX and there will be firmwares after if the devs discontinue it because they couldn't exploit it for money the way they wanted to.

Ha, well it's true there will always be more hackers.... thank god I do some coding as well.
But the thing is we might all have to start from scratch with it. We'll see. Hopefully it's an issue we don't have to face.

Yeah, I hope not. If that does happen, I could see the source getting leaked by a group member who doesn't agree with the boo-hoo drama.

It could happen, but a lot of people undertake projects for idealistic reasons. Regardless of the drama that may occur, it very well could not be leaked. I'm just interested to see what actually happens.
But I do hope if it did happen, that it would somehow get leaked, so others could start undertaking the project.

And anyone who has been around long enough in any scene sees this all the time so nothing to get worried about as there is another group waiting to take the spot light.
And I hardly doubt they would start from scratch. Hackers and crackers do it to each other don't they....
