Hi everyone. Here's my situation:

I have a hardmodded Wii (with D2C key) and with 4.0U firmware. I installed the HBC a while ago (on firmware 3.2, i think) and i was able to install any wad i wanted.
But since my girls are the major Wii players here, i was kinda away from the console. A couple of months ago, i was trying to install a new wad, that my girls asked me to, and couldn't anymore.
My HBC is up to date, but every wad i try to install i get the ret -2011 error.
From reading a lot of topics on the internet, i know that is a "wrong IOS" type of error... but i never installed any IOS or cIOS before. Some guys told me that i have to install preloader before, some say that its not needed since my Wii is hardmodded.

I just have no idea whatsoever of what, exactly, i have to do to be able to install wads like i used to.
Any tips?

Thanks!

First off update to latest 4.1 firmware using the normal update method.

Now go HERE and follow the steps I only list below (You do not have to do the other steps to install WAD files.

Downgrade IOS35:

cIOS38_rev14:

IOS DOWNGRADER:

IOS60Patched: (Only do IOS60Patched. Since you have a Modchip you do not have to install NeoGamma).

That is it. You should be updated to latest firmware and be able to install WAD files.

I'm having a similar problem as well. My wii got upgraded to 4.1(wii sports resort) and now it won't install wad files and it gives me the same error that the original poster got.

Now I've seen what you've posted on here larrylje, but I'm still a little confused. I'm a very big novice at this type of stuff. I'm just really confused what are the exact steps to follow doing this

Here's what I get so far from my understanding, please correct me on anything I'm wrong on.

1. Since I'm at firmware 4.1 all ready so I don't need to do the first step in upgrading. (Yet im assuming)

2. As far as downgrading, ive read your way on how to downgrade offline, which is awesome but what if you all ready have homebrew channel and such all ready on wii? Do I still just follow all of these steps anyway or is there a certain way I'd have to go about it?

3. Once I am downgraded fully, what exactly is the next step, I keep getting confused on what to do next when tryign to plan this whole thing out.

If you already have it softmodded then all you need to do is run IOS Dongrader and IOS60Patched.wad.
