Wii Channel can't be used (ERROR)

I've looked but have not found any threads on this issue.
I just downloaded some wads and tried to install them.
They installed and are available on the home screen but when I try to use them I get the "Channel not available or can't be used" I have the 4.0 Softmod. The usb loader that I installed works great! but for some reason I cant get the Internet or Mario kart channel to open. Any suggestions? Thanks

Update to 4.1 firmware and run IOS Downgrader and IOS60Patched.wad.

I have the 4.2 firmware loaded and i've carried out larrylje's softmod instructions, but I have the same problem with installing .wads.

Do I need to use a different channel to instal wads to with wadmanager or have i done something wrong?

Follow the DOP-IOS part of the guide. Make sure you patch IOS70.

Also make sure the channel WAD's are the same region as your system.

Thanks larrylje,

I've followed the DOP-IOs to the letter, including the IOS70.

The wad's were most Likely NTSC though and my machine is PAL.
I had been told that they both worked but maybe that's just .ISOs.

I'll make sure I try it with some PAL wads.
