Need Guides to Flash Xbox

So I've decided to flash my Xbox. After an hour of researching, a few questions come to mind.

1) What kind of tools do I need?

2) What are modchips used for? And how money do they cost?

3) I need some recently made guides on everything to convert a never-opened stock Xbox 360 to a modded Xbox capable of playing games I burn.

4) How do I know what type of DVD-ROM I have?

5) Do the disks I burn need to be DVD+R or can they be DVD-R?

close it back up and do some research. honestly, people here are willing to help but nobody's going to walk you through it step by step. read until you feel confident to proceed, then ask specific q's as they arise.good luck

Torx 10 and very small flat head screw driver. (Like repairing eye glasses)

DVD+R DL (Verbatim Made in Singapore)

The Ultimate Sticky has info too and I know homesick made a video tutorial on how to open your XBOX 360. But there are plenty of tutorials. Google is your friend.
