Sata Chipset - how can I check my Onboard Sata?

If I dpon't need to buy the VIA PCI Sata Card I'd rather not, is there an app, or some way of checking my Sata chipset to know if it's compatible to mod my Xbox, if it helps I have a PCCHips P23G This is a link to it

AFAIK, there is no app that will test compatibility for you. Best thing to do is try it and see!

Thanks, just don't want to do any harm, will the PC just not recognise the Drive if it's not compatible?

Go HERE and download the CPU-Z zip. Run it and then go to the mainboard tab. Look at the southbridge and that will tell you have chipset you have.

Just looking at that picture, I can see "VIA" on a the board there. So more than likely you should be able to flash your drive with that motherboard.
