getting confused on how to backup a 360 game

heres what im doing. i have a Samsung SH-D162D Kreon V1.0 IDE DVD-ROM Drive Black *The NEW SH-D162C* i have a 360 game in it.so first i go to imgburn and create file image from disc?correct? but when i do that i get a interpretation unrecovered read error when i get to 2%! what does that mean . the only other error ive seen is when imgburn starts in one line in the imgburn log theres a yellow triangle and says W 20:05:52 SPTD can have a detrimental effect on drive performance. any help please this is giving me a headache. so any advice other programs i need settings i need to change please respond!

use xbox backup creator to rip the game,then imgburn to write the iso to disk.

Im running windows vista.
but under image style complete backup and current partition start and cancel buttons arent highlighted and cannot be clicked on. HELP lol

here's what i do:
-under the options tab, make sure the correct version of drive is selected
-under drive tools, select unlock drive
-under read, select complete backup
-push start
if that doesnt work, im really not sure.

ya the unlock drive option is not highlighted so i cant select it, i dont know whats going on

Close xbox creator,check in "my computer" that the sammy is being detected & is showing there,now clik on xbox creator icon,normally it will detect the sammy automatically, just check drop down list that it's there

If you are saying your trying xbox creator on a vista machine it would pay to check that UAC isn't blocking it,imo you'd better off keeping the xp machine as a backup mind you i'm a horder so i'd say that anyway :p

maybe try downloading a different revision of backup creator. seems like i recall having one that some tabs were grayed out also.

Did you check the UAC in vista isn't blocking,apart from that i can't really help,it also seems your not the only vista user having issues if a web search is anything to go by.Actually there is one thing that may work, under xp there is an option of running older programs in sort of a backwards compatibility mode(can't remember the name or where it is)perhaps vista has the option to run programs in xp compatibility mode,i spose it kinda emulates an older OS or something like that

how do i check the uac i just know how to enable and disable uac. disabling doesnt work
