I've got my console connected to one of my computer's primary monitor. The console is connected using HDMI and the computer is connected using DVI. Now, while my computer is ON, the monitor automatically detects signal on the DVI port and switches to it, that is all well and good. But as soon as I start my console, and switch the monitor's input to HDMI, the monitor takes a while to detect signal ( 3 - 5 secs), then the console restarts, and the monitor goes back to displaying DVI. It works only if I unplug the DVI cable, but I really don't want to move a 23" monitor to unplug a DVI cable every time I want to play xbox. Does anyone know how to get this to work like it is supposed to?
I have a pro xbox 360 (jasper), not an elite, and the monitor I want to use with this is an Acer X233H.
the issue is not with the 360 or with the monitor, its the HDMI built in securty. I think this issue can be bypassed by buying a cheap chinese hdmi wire. Check dealextreme.com
That's what I thought I had. But I guess it isn't cheap enough. I am using the HDMI cable that came with an AV Audio Adaptor (C$12 from eBay). I will try a different cable.
