Trying to decide between these two receivers so if there's anyone that's used both could you say which one you think is better please?
I mean in terms of how easy it is to get working, epg, likelihood of updates in future etc.

Thanks!

Hey Donalz - does the Kryptview have USB & PVR functionality? ( I suppose it depends on which version you buy eh?)

After what happened to the other manufacturer supported boxes like the Eurovox MaxV etc and the minefield of clones out there why choose either of these. Personally I'll stick with a dBox2 or dreambox. Open source support seems to be the best over time.

it is if you know linux, if not the kryptview in my book, the others took months to fix, including Linux boxs,

the SV and other similar PVR only record what yer watching or whats on the same TP or Freq, so if you want to record corrie and then flick over to nat Geo, if they aint on the same TP or Freq as each other then your effed,

the only thing they are good for is pausing TV, how mant times ya gonna do that in a day? Kryptview is better supported, better pic, proper aspect ratio, powerscan, the only thing its lacking is a Digital audo output,

Great info there folks, thanks.

I looked at a lot of threads on here about dbox and dreambox and decided it sounded too complicated for me so I ruled them out.

Had a starview 2 so i've an idea what the 4 is gonna be like. Didn't know anything about the kryptview but from what i'm reading here it sounds like the one to go for. Unfortunately they dont seem to be in stock anywhere right now. Will have to wait til the end of the month.

I've been looking myself lately mate at an upgrade so have been asking questions to make sure I make an informed purchase. There are still a few suppliers with Kryptviews if you do a search on google for the Kryptview Arnet A750c or look at page 1 of this thread which was compiled by one of the more senior users of this site - it gives a lot of info on whats what.... You might want to ask around on different threads for feedback on specific boxes tho!
All the best.

Yeah cheers for that. I'd be interested in a USB box as my laptop has no seriel port & saves me bringing box to a PC with the seriel (I know I could get a converter but you know yourself - ease of use and all that).
Cheers.
