Hi all,
I recently had my Wii repaired, and when they did this they updated the system menu to 4.1E, I bannerbombed, installed HBC and BackupLauncher 3g, and related IOS and cIOS's. Since then I am having tremendous problems with my backup launcher channel (DVD Error 324 - BUT the backups work fine on my other softmodded wii's! - THUS its not Media issues!).
I am led to believe that its something to do with incompatibilities with SYSMENU 4.1E (?) buy maybe I'm wrong. I have been trying to downgrade to SYSMENU 3.2E (Apparently the most Ideal version for HBC and BUL3g), using AnyRegionChanger, and cIOS Downgrader - but with no joy.
Perhaps someone can help me do the downgrade, or give me some advice? I hope so! Failing that, i have downloaded a SYSTEM MENU 3.2E WAD file - could I just install this using WAD manager and thus have my Wii downgraded?
Please please help if you can, im at my WITS END! Im willing to answer any questions or provide any more information that you may need to help me get it sorted!
Thanks in advance,
Tegan1110
(*) My backups are LEGALLY MADE COPIES of games I already own, I have got 3 Sticky fingered children, each with their own Wii in their room, so the backups are made of the originals, and the originals stored in the loft incase of scratching, fingerprints or other miscellaneous damage. I own a RETAIL COPY of all backups that I make. I DO NOT CONDONE PIRACY!

Error 324 is usually due to a media issue.
Just because the backups work for 1 system doesn't necessarily mean they will work on another system. Wii systems can be very picky. Some will read almost any type of media and some will be very picky and only read a few types. For best results use Verbatim or Tayio Yuden and burn with IMGBurn at half the rated speed of the media.
As for 3.2 firmware being ideal for cIOS and BU Launcher well that is just not true. 4.1 firmware works perfectly fine if the softmod is installed properly.
I would start off with making sure you have the latest cIOS38_rev14 and uninstal WiiGator 0.3 and install NeoGamme R6 backup launcher.

Larry,
Yeah i was beginning to think that is whats up, a media issue. I managed to get the system menu down to 3.2E, but still experience the same issues. Funny how my other wii's work perfectly with RIDISCs, but my personal one doesnt - it must have expensive taste for discs or something! Hehe!
Now here comes my problem. To get Verb's or Tayio's at a decent rate, you have to buy in bulk (100s), however I dont want to pay through the nose for 100 DVDs that only MIGHT work... hmph... perhaps someone can send me a blank VERB/TAYIO for me to try before I buy a load?!?
Im willing to provide my UK Postal Address if someone is generous enough to assist me, and I can cover postage expenses if required?
Thank-you!

Hmm, ok... I bought a 25 pack of Verbatim DVD-R's from a local shop, and its not helped my situation at all. Infact, im in EXACTLY the same situation as before, its almost as if my Wii wont read ANY self burned DVD-R discs.
Im hoping that someone can help me out here, im really confused!
NeoGamma R6, running IOS249 Rev9 gives error: "DVD Read Error (972)"
Backup Launcher 0.3g, running IOS249 gives error: "DVD Read Error (324)"
Im REALLY confused now! Please help shed some light on my issues! I'm almost BEGGING here!
I am now 100% sure that im not actually experiencing media issues. 3 Types of DVD-R INCLUDING the recommended ones all give the same error.
Is it possible that Nintendo have done something to completely prevent my Wii from reading burned discs? My originals all play PERFECT!
HELP ME PLEASE!

Use cIOS38_rev14 and use NeoGamma R6. See if that helps at all. Also try running IOS Downgrader in case you have trucha signed disc that 4.1 firmware usually patches to block them from working (IOS Downgrader will downgrade the IOS's and patch them to let trucha signed disc run).

Sorry to bump an old-ish thread, but its still really getting my goat!
I tried a WHOLE variety of DVD Media, running back-ups of various games (confirmed working on my other Wii Systems) attempting to boot on NeoGamma R6, cIOS 38 Rev 14, and NONE of them will work, im still getting Error 972, and error 324 on BUL3g.
Is it possible that when they had my console in for repair, Ninty have modified my drive or something?

Hey Larry,
Why you think that some backups were playing and today they won't play and get error 324 when I haven't changed anything on the Wii. Some backups work from disc channel and some work from backup launcher .3 but some that did work get error 324 now. Hmm, just puzzles me. Idea? Thanks

OK I have a backup playing problem that I can't resolve after numerous searches (here and elsewhere).
I am trying to get a backup to load on my wii (homebrew, backup launcher, cIOS38_rev14 and NeoGamma are all installed. I have also run the IOS Downgrader successfully, and IOS60 too). BTW I have firmware 4.1
I made the iso of madden 08 using dvd dumper 1.2 and had no problem burning the iso to disc using both nero and imgburn.
So here is where things go wrong...I put the disc in the Wii and load backup launcher (or neo gamma, same problem for both). The disc spins up and the screen flashes black then green, and then the white warning screen comes up (the one that shows the hand holding the wii remote (the same one that comes up for every game)).
The system locks up at this point and I have to do a hard reboot to get it going again.
Any suggestions on what is going wrong? Does the game iso for this game need to be patched before burning?

My suggestion is to not post this issue in multiple threads. I already answered your question in the last thread you posted this in.
