i now live in England move from Canada i have 2000 points on my gamertag but i cant buy nothing it said . this item isn't available from your current location its only cod map pack 3 how can i change my game tag to England location

Hi All:

Your GamerTag is not your problem, your consoles' region is the culprit.

XBL "guesses" as to your location based on how you connect to the internet.

Two options:

Option 1:

Buy a PAL region Xbox360 and replace a bunch of your games (some are region free)

Option 2:

Connect to your WAN through a proxy. The proxy is going to need to be a good one (ghost) if you don't want M$ to "see" right through it. There are tons of commercial proxy server's around the world. You are going to need a US one. This means (if your modem/router doesn't support proxy servers, which most don't) you will need to configure your desktop to act as a server. You are going to need two NIC's (one connected to the router and a second to your 360).

You can also try DUN (dial up networking). Get a NetZero dial-up acount (free, limited usage) and a MagicJack (cheap). Use the MagicJack to dial into a NetZero US server (You don't want the software just the access number, user name and pass). You will still need to set up your rig to "share" the "network" connection with your 360. Just make sure your rig is not transmitting any unnecessary packets as your connection speeds will be in the 56k range. Actual down speeds are about 5-6k depending on traffic (I travel a lot :)

I have never tested any of the above methods with the 360 and XBL. It may not allow you to connect at the above mentioned speeds or with a proxy.

That sucks, but I don't know off the top of my head if you can change the region associated with a profile. You might just have to get another console, because "dialing in" would get expensive in the long run.
