ok i have a starview 4 i also have two starview 1/2 i will find out today what box he got chipped but he did say it was one he had since last year will let all know which one

you can update firmware on any box,provided a fix was made for that one or it is used on the other cable provider in irl.always get the correct name and model as all boxes differ.

People have been saying there is a fix for the older boxes, well the answer to this is no there is no fixes, there is a guy saying he is chipping them, but what he is actually fixing is the USB models and the euro slim, he is doing this from a market stall in the inner city area, so this is where this info has come from, just like Chinese whispers they change all the time.
