It's not a soft mod, it's not a hard mod. It's a firm mod :)
You have to open up the 360, plug the DVD drive into your PC, and modify it like that.
Check out Jungle Flasher tutorial.

Yes, each drive is slightly different. The Jungle Flasher tutorial features a section on each drive. There is also a tutorial on how to tell which drive is which.
Jungle Flasher can be gotten from http://www.jungleflasher.net and a PDF tutorial comes with the download. You could also do a forum search for 'jungle flasher tutorial'.
You can find out which DVD drive you have by going to Google and searching 'xbox dvd drive comparison'. There are YouTube videos as well.

Well you just need to figure out what drive you have and then you won't have to read 72 pages....

Originally posted by eebeejay: Identify your drive (Lite-On, BenQ, Hitachi).
Also, since you don't know how to get into DOS, I reccomend you NOT use DOS. Download Jungle Flasher instead (it runs in Windows).
Download the iXtreme firmware to flash onto your 360 drive:
v1.6 for Lite-On
v1.6 for BenQ
v1.51 for Hitachi
If your onboard Sata chipset is not compatible, you'll need to buy a VIA 6421 Sata card like these.
If your 360 drive is a Lite-On, you'll need a probe. You can build your own, but for an overall novice, I'd suggest an all-in-one connect kit WITH probe like this or this.
JungleFlasher will come with a tutorial that will explain step-by-step how to use all of this stuff. Reading the tutorial will be 10 times quicker than posting questions and waiting on answers.
Use what I've said, and it should be enough. If not, the afterdawners will be glad to help you finish the project, (after you've put in a little effort of your own).
Good luck, spunki

Eh, that stuff's kind of outdated. I'd go with leerage's signature.

You really need to read before you attempt to flash your drive, before I flashed my first one I spent about 1 month reading.

Try out your on board sata to see if it recognises the xbox. If it doesn't you will need to buy a via 6421 pci sata card.

Some just refuse to read up on the info. It's faster to simply read the tutorial, than it is to post, wait, read, reply, post, wait, read, reply, post, wait, read, reply.

I don't know very much about 360 modding, i don't think the other mods do either, if stuff's outdated then we need you regulars to let us know which ones need un-stickying....
I know leerage's stuff is new as i stickied them and i do know there are way too many things stickied, but have bob and no idea which ones are outdated...

Wtf, did you not read my post or are you just plain stupid (the latter of which is correct). I post the answer to your repetitive questions then you ask the same one?

You don't even deserve that picture, you are a member ffs!

If you don't want to read up on it and learn for yourself, then do what I did and pay some dude in his basement $30 to do it for you.
At least I PAID someone to think for me.
:P)
