ok... after noticing the lack of a good challenge or something here these days..
i have one or question to see if its been done..
can two xbox's be connected to each other via crossover cables and have one setup as a host, and the other as a client?
why would anyone want this? i'd like to do this for copying games from one xbox harddrive to another without the need for a pc, just bring your xbox over to a buddies, grab a few games and vice-versa and voila! more games... easy and fast... hehe..
i wonder though if there are any ftp clients for the modded xbox.. if so, can boxexplorer use networked drives (if you can even map drives on the xbox)?
there is a program, I think its called xbox ftp client, it does this. it is kind of funky to get use to at first because there is no keyboard, but once you get the hang of it, it works great. word to the wise, once you get the program, change the colors of the UI, the default is awful, you can barely see anything, but that is just a minor set-back. Also, the transfer speed is very slow, but that is no biggie either
never heared of xserve. anyways, if you use px hdd loader to copy games to hdd, transfer files into that folder. it makes it much easier to delete them later.
iggi, I can't believe the good people at xbox-scene let a poor guide get approved to be put with the other helpful guides. Yes, this method would work, but there is no need for a router. Having a router, if you already dont have one, is a waste of money. All you need is a crossover cable that is connected to both boxes and thats it. Crossover cables are cheap too, they cost about 5-6 bucks at frys (dont get one a best buy, there the ultimate computer rip-off center) The program mentioned in the tut is the same that I use.
