I tried flashing this samsung drive and it got hung up/froze during writing bank 1. So, now I have E65 error since obviously it has no firmware. Now I cant seem to figure out how to get it back into vendor mode so that I can reflash.

Jungle flasher doesn't seem to exactly see the samsung, but I know what port it is in, so I try "Sammy unlock" and it gives me "failed at Stage 3".

I have also tried intro/device ID and cycling drive, but it stays in status 0x80 and results with device intro failed.

Also, because of the E65, I can not eject the drive. Any suggestions to get ixtreme 1.6 flashed on here or even the original? I have original files saved from first read.

I believe the Samsung can get status 0x70 right after they are powered on. Try leaving the drive off, and then click Intro/Device ID. Once you see the dots go across, power it on.

unfortunately that didn't seem to work. it started with status 0x0 and I clicked yes to resend, then powered the drive and dots finished and "device intro failed!". I tried it multiple times to be sure and same error.

Maybe you could try DosFlash v1.8.

when I try dosflash32, it keeps saying "name: No ATAPI Device present".

When I try dosflash16, it opens command prompt and says "No ATAPI devices present" then closes screen.

This was using dosflash v1.7, but I just tried both with v1.8 and got the same errors. (PS: win32 unit, so couldnt do dosflash64)

I am also trying dosflash or iprep. When I do this, I know the port is 0xFE00 and I get:

4) 0xFE00 SATA Pri Master ATAPI No identify possible
MTK Vendor intro failed on port 0xFE00.
resend (Y/N)?

I type 'y' and it says flashes between status: 0x00 and 0x80.

I try to cycle multiple times, but same results flashing between 00 and 80.

Eventually I have to ESC and I cant get drive into vendor mode.

I think maybe MTKflash could bring it back to life but I don't know the command line.

3) Try to run the command mtkflash.exe r /sata /m orig.bin instead (do not use if your sata is onboard... meaning not a pci card) If this is sucessful you'll have to use the command mtkflash.exe w /sata /m xtreme30.bin to flash.

I believe you have to hex edit MTKFlash. If you use iPrep version 6 (I believe) it will hex edit for you.

Go ahead and fire up iPrep version 6 and check it out. I think it gives you the option to select your onboard SATA and you can still hex edit the info with iPrep.

Iprep 6 is not giving me any SCSI based controllers, so I am forced to pick an IDE controller. I tried it anyway and when mtkflash i got drive scaned:
1: IDE Pri Master
2: IDE Pri Slave
3: XTREME Pri Master

nothing seems to see the SATA xbox.
