Xbox 360 Liteon PLDS DG-16D25
Jungle Flasher with firmwareRepack that I found at these forums.
Windows XP
Port I/O intalled
Probe drivers installed
Everything for Jungle Flasher to work is installed.
I've followed the two tutorials I pasted above in addition to the Junlge Flasher tutorial itself. I don't have VIA Sata drivers. I have an MSI barebones with Nvdia nforce mobo and sata controller.
When I plug in the connectivity kit, everything is fine. If the Liteon is all the way in, the PC boots fine. If the tray is halfway in the PC will fail to boot and just sit at a blinking cursor after POSTing. If I unpower the drive or disconnect sata it will boot up. When in Windows or anytime during boot if I plug in the drive the pc will reboot and get stuck again. No Blue screen, nothing in the system logs. And I can't for the life of me read the mini dump, I even installed the Windows debugging tool, but it tells me something is missing.
So to get the drive to register what I've done is boot up with the drive closed, then I manually eject it and push it in. If I disconnect the dvd drive at this point and reconnect it, the pc will reboot. Jungle flasher sees it and it also sees my cheap knock off usb probe since I installed the drivers. However, no matter what I do I can't get it to dump the files. I've tried the drive tray at every point in between closed and open. I've tried different ports for the usb probe.
I've tried dumping from Jungle Flasher and XtractorReader and both fail.
I've pushed the probe down hard, and just touched the r707 hole and nothing changes.
So is the probe I have broken? Or is the issue related to my PC rebooting if it catches wind of an open Liteon drive connected. Or something else entirely?
I hope I wasn't too confusing in my attempt to be as detailed as possible.
Still nothing changed. I tried again after posting and had all the same problems.
What should I do? Try another SATA card - which I'll have to buy?
Or try another probe since I can get the drive seen in Windows sometimes but can't get Jungle Flasher to read the key.
I wait till I'm in Windows before I turn on the connector kit then I do the whole tray thing. I also found that my board likes having the sata connection in a certain sata port, the othes will blue screen. FYI.
Thanks for the reply. I only have two Sata ports, I tried both and its the same. I'm thinking though, that since Jungle Flasher can see the drive just fine maybe the problem is the probe. I'm going to see if I can exchange it, hopefully the seller will be accommodating.
