cannot open up the clasps on the back of the xbox!

i've been trying for hours and it seems the holes and the white part into the hole is bout to widen and break off aswell.....

is there a certain trick that im missing here...cuz i've tried vertical down....up and down...nothing is working.

i've watched many videos and looked at many pictures.....i've done what was demonstrated....can't open it up!

You don't need to necessarily pry up or down to open it. The small slits on the back, right under the console information, and also above where you plug in the power, are the one you will need to poke through. All you need to do, is use something small and sturdy. I use a tool that came with my soldering iron. Anyways, Just push inward, until you hear a click, and continue with the rest until you get one side of the case to open.

While you are prying it open, you will want to use your other had to start pushing the 2 sides apart, while you are popping each latch.

I always do the back clasps first and the front later otherwise the back ones become more difficult. I use either nail scissors or tweezers (from the wife's manicure kit ;) )

Am I suppose to push down the white tab that I see inside the hole...or try to enter the gap to seperate the white tab to push it to the side?

What i'm using right now is a small flat head....which should be fine :S

This is the exact same problem I had.

I eventually got 3 of the clips off and from there I went to the "snap back" method.


You basically just rip it apart. Effective, quick, and somewhat clean.

You don't want to start ripping it apart! That's not the best way to do it. The white you see through the slits is where you need to push. You don't need to try and get passed those. You just need to push inside there and wait for the 'click'.

Ripping IS NOT a great way to get apart.

I didn't say it was the best way. I said it was the easiest/most effective, which it is. Anyone can just pull it apart.

I didn't say it was the best way. I said it was the easiest/most effective, which it is. Anyone can just pull it apart.
Na defo not the most effective way. Just use some small nail scissors like I said. You could snap you case or the clips ripping it apart.
