You can actually write the firmware with DosFlash v1.8. Make a bootable USB drive and put DosFlash on it. Boot to it, select the drive, select W for write and type the bin name. (I would rename the Kreon bin to something easy before booting to Dos)
I don't mean to hijack this thread at all, but since XBC was mentioned, I thought I would ask..
I'm using xbc 2.8, and even with new releases with no problems, so is there no need to update to 2.9?
And one more quick thing, lately with games when I'm ripping then checking them with abgx level 0, i'm getting the DMI unverified more frequently, and I read somewhere that's just because the game in the database was from a different factory then the copy I have.. is that true?

Thanks!
The update in 2.9 was to change the stealth checks to basic and allow wave 3 through. The only issue you would run into with 2.8 is trying to burn. 2.9 was created to allow wave 3 to be burned.
As for your rips, since they are your rips... always leave at level 0. Don't let ABGX patch over your rip. Even though the DMI says unverified it is because it is different in the database. Doesn't mean yours is bad, they just didn't match. Now if you download games, you always want to run Level 3 and let ABGX patch.
