Hello my friends, again here with a new issue:

I flashed a Hitachi v78 with Jungle Flasher 1.62B and the Firmware pack to iXtreme 1.51. It was stock. (BTW running a VIA VT6421A with the driver removed, with the connectivity kit and a SATA into the card)

I flashed everything reported OK and smoothly, back in the xbox it rund the original games but NOT THE BACKUPS after reading for a while it only shows the Open Tray. But original games run fine.

Here is the log for the Third time I re flash, any ideas?

Your flash has gone good but your drive is having problems reading back up disks. You will need to do the POT calibration, its a common issue with Hitachi's. Use the search button to find a tutorial.

Hi Everyone,

Sorry to bother but I need some help. About 3 months a go I flashed my hitachi GDR-3120L drive. Everything went good and I was able to play backed up games. My problem now is that the drive has been running very loud and that most of my games, original as well as back ups always freeze. There is no exaxt point as to when they freeze just usually in the middle of game play. I was wondering if my xbox was just overheating? Or if the freezing is caused by a bad flash or something? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

Sounds like the Hitachi drive is crapping out. I'd get a replacement BenQ drive.

Can it possibly be anything else cause this drive was brand new before I flashed it. It was not the original that came with the xbox. I broke that one while flashing it cause I dropped it on the ground. I bought this one 3 months ago. If it is the drive, what drive is the best to replace this one and how do I go about replacing it. Thank you.

Agreed, I have experienced this exact same problem but way worse with a 79 Hitachi; to the point where it would not read any disc (and there couldn't read the 79 unlock disc).

Since you have the key already just eBay a BenQ replacement for $30 and put it in your system and it will work like a charm.
