People should check the terms and conditions when buying from a supplier on there refund, for eg, here is a well knows suppliers TOS (no names mentioned ;) ).

RECEIVERS CAN BE RETURNED FOR A REFUND WITHIN 7 DAYS OF DELIVERY, PROVIDING THAT THEY ARE STILL " SEALED & UNOPENED". RECEIVERS MUST BE RETURNED IN THE SAME ORIGINAL CONDITION, I.E. WITH NO SCUFF MARKS, SCRATCHES, DENTS & WITH ALL ORIGINAL PARTS, PACKAGING & ACCESSORIES!
A 20% RE-STOCKING FEE APPLIES!

PLEASE NOTE THAT PARCELS WHICH ARE REFUSED DELIVERY, WILL BE SUBJECT TO A £10 HANDLING CHARGE. THIS IS DUE TO RETURN FEE CHARGES INCURRED THROUGH COURIER!

And this applies to almost everyone buying online, so if you haven't received it dont accept the delivery and if you have you can send it back within 7 days. That is from the horses mouth.

Dont forget the other part of it

UNFORTUNATELY WE CAN NOT PROVIDE A BUY, TRY & RETURN SERVICE!

LIKE ALL ONLINE BUSINESSES, WE CAN NOT REFUND ANY DELIVERY CHARGES!

ANY PRODUCT RETURNED TO US THAT IS FOUND TO BE NOT FAULTY WILL BE RETURNED BACK TO YOU.

Well Hiteck if ya bought from this guy, or his mates your in big trouble, as how are ya going to send it back, pay as ya go phone, dump it in the bin and start again, unlike suppliers that have been here for many years. And what is to stop any supplier refusing delivery there end as well, actually nothing, or changing their names like john thomas above,so the punter will be out his money and his box, good thinking send them back and risk loosing everything, or hold them and hope someone comes up with a fix, either way you risk both ways, at least if you have your box stick it on gumtree or similar and try get something back for it, they still work 100% in chorus area in ireland and the north of ireland as well as the uk.

By the way, no disrespect to all UK suppliers, there are some excellent and genuine suppliers there but, like everything else in life there is a minority who just want to screw you. Take care and beware everyone. ADIOS.

I was talking about SW Terms of refund, it does state people can send them back within 7 days, it also says if they refuse the delivery that they will be charged 10 pounds and they are the facts, I have a screenshot if you need it. So as they said return within 7 days or refuse delivery and it will cost you a tenner, ferg you can argue all you like but these are the terms and conditions on their website.

EDIT ;

Here it is, members buying from these, here are there TOS regarding refunds.

Well there ya go folks, Hiteck has found it for ya, so all you have to do is send them back and see what happens, same applies to all suppliers, and hope you dont lose box and money, as i said better having the box at least you can flog it on gumtree, at least you will have a better chance of getting something back, rather than losing all maybe, and that is only my opinion nobody else's.

Right lads, here's my story.

I'm from Ireland and bought my Kryptview from a supplier in the UK on Friday and got it delivered today. Rang the guy and quoted the 7 day grace period in which I could return any good and he was having none of it. Tried to tell me that it only applied to British customers. So I rang www.consumerdirect.gov.uk in the UK and asked them to clarify the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 Act. They said that these regulations apply to all trading over the internet within the EU, so I'm covered.

I rang the guy back and told him I was returning the box today and was to get a full refund (les shipping) within 14 days. This was on the advise of customerdirect. He had a hissy fit and told me not to expect a refund and that he couldn't contact his boss to get any clarification on the matter, he couldn't even give me the name of his boss yadda yadda yadda. As I type this, it's winging it's way back to the supplier.

So if you've bought a new box over the last number of days, you should be entitled to a full refund. I can see this case getting legs. I may need to take out a case with paypal or consumerdirect.

If I had of bought the box over a week ago, I would have had to accept it, but these our my rights and your rights.

I'll keep you posted!
if you went through paypal put in a dispute claim (i think its called) and that will freeze his assets and see how quick you get your money back.

And what would you be in dispute with, the box works as its sold FTA unit, its not a clone, its not faulty, it does as described on the box give you free to air channels, you received it, so what would you say to pay pal, sorry i cant get the premium channels because NTL changed there encryption, ??? That wont work.

On the grounds he is not accepting the return within 7 days, Paypal WILL reinforce the consumer in this case e45.

Right, as I thought this has gathered legs! The courier company I used to send the box back have said that the address used on the website and the address on the invoice is infact a derilict building - not a sinner in sight!

I've raised a dispute now with paypal while e-mailing these clowns to look for their real address!

Can I name and shame the muppet shop in question on this website so as to make people aware of them? I seen on a few other forums, even this forum, that people have previously found them good to deal with!

hey this is my first post but thought i should share my experience.i ordered boxes last saturday on for the damn thing to fall apart on monday. i've already been told its all my fault btw. anyway i wasnt sure wat to do but when i read the terms and conditions on the sellers website i decided i just send straight back unopened and pay the 20$ restocking charge. anyway still no sign of the box today so rang seller who was very apologetic about the delay in shipping but they wouldnt be send til next friday. when i asked to cancel order was told it was no problem just had to pay a 15 euro fee. all in all very relived and if they ever come up wit a fix i know where i'll be getting mine. p.s dont want to name seller in case i'm accused of advertising i've seen how sensitive some people are lol

Sorry just realised I can't just yet. The courier company made a slight cock-up on the delivery but will be delivered on Monday now. I contacted the seller but he is adament that PalPal will award in his favour, even after I sent him documentation on the Distant Selling Act 2000 and purchasing items over the internet.

I'm more confident though

An update:
Mr. Seller has begun to back down. He said he'd refund £99.95 (total inc shipping of 10) less £25 but I know myself that shipping was more, actually £16.80. The extra bit was probably the re-stocking fee that's NOT mentioned anywhere in his Terms and Conditions. Looks like I'll be a happy camper!

good to see your getting somewhere, the idea of a re-stocking fee is if something is opened so they can sell it on at a discount, so if its unopened there shouldnt be a restocking charge, thats from my experience of working in retail
