Help required - ABGX problem or Firmware problem?

Folks,
I have been having problems with burned games and I was wondering if someone may be able to shed any light on the situation.
I have searched the forum but the answer does not seem to be crystal clear.
I have 11 backed up/burned games, my Elite is practically brand new a few months old, with a Flashed BenQ Drive.
When I insert 6/11 of the burned games I get a 'Please insert disc into console error' now the games were burned using the same application, same PC, same person etc and 4/11 work fine.
The discs all seem to work on a friends console who is running ix 1.4 I believe, I have the latest firmware. I ran one of the discs thru ABGX this morning with the output below:
Can I assume this is some other kind of error and not related to the drive, dust etc as I even cleaned the discs..

Yes my XBOX is flashed with ixtreme 1.6.. Is this the problem?

no a problem, the problem lies with your discs. did you 'patch' these games, or what? because your agbx log states it should have matched 3rd wave games and it didnt. 1.6 wont allow patched games to play, unless you do it with the one shot boot method.

Sorry, I think I should probably make myself a bit clearer...
I gave my friend a pack of discs Ritek/Arita 11 discs and a list of games, he burned them with DVD Decrypter and not sure if they are patched or not. I questioned him regarding Wave 3 - (Although, im fairly new to the whole XBOX360 and not sure myself what Wave 3 is)..
A response from him is below:
'None of our games are wave 3 cos I patched them.
What it sounds like is the disk is not been read. Tell him to clean disk. And switch on and off the xbox with the game inside the xbox. Sometimes if the game is inside the xbox it will work when u switch on.
With wave 3 games, the game is recognised by the xbox but hangs when u load it in.
If he still has problem tell him to buy verbatim disks and reburn the game at 2.4. What I have seen is some xbox don't like certain brands of disks. Mine doesn't like the yellow datawrite ones'
I tried doing what he said, but no joy... Someone else said that if you have 1.6 the XBOX will not launch the game if it is not patched?
P.S What does it mean that PFI is incorrect? Am tearing my hair out here, trying to fix this prob! What can be done?

An interesting observation though is that of the games that work that he gave me, I ran them through ABGX and they come back as clean.. Stealth Patched etc...
Could this be consistent with the whole 1.6 will not load games unless they are patched? and if so, how do I patch?
Sorry, Im being a pain in the A** !

thats why
you need the 'real' wave 3 discs, not the hillbilly patched up discs. tell the person you got them from to give you real copies not hacked up ones.

Ok, I will do.. but if I could trouble you just to elaborate slightly..
What exactly is Wave 3..?
All i know is that he downloads via P2P or some other sort... so do u mean by 'real' as in original disc?

wave 3 discs are games that contain the spring update. the older firmware, everything 1.5 and below wouldnt play them because the consoles didnt recognize the discs. so instead of reflashing your drive, people decided to just remove the update and replace it with a file from older games so their consoles would play them.
what i mean from real discs, is unpatched stock discs. just like it would be when the person downloaded the games. because odds are, this guy downloads his games, then runs them through ppf-o-matic to get the new hacked up version of the game.

Well I have firmware 1.6 so can I assume that I did nothing wrong in flashing my drive seeing as it seems to be playing some games fine?
OK, I can try and ask but if he cant, is there a way to correct the coasters or do I need to download a different source..
But also how comes my friends console plays them as they have a lower firmware to me... they are running 1.4.. and those guys have never had problems with any discs...
Also if you could point me to some tutorials regarding wave 3 for my knowledge that would be great.. as I have 6/11 not working if I can get them working somehow patching or wot not that would be great if you could share your wisdom?

There is no way to fix these once they have been burned. You will have to redownload, then check with ABGX before you burn it.
The reason these games play on your friends xbox is becuase the games are patched to work with iExtreme 1.4.
iExteme wont load patched games as it will will get you banned from XBOX Live.

they could be fixed. the OP would just have to rip them to his computers hard drive, open up agbx, and set it to autofix level 3, and it should replace the wave 2 files with the proper ones *i think*. then he could reburn them and they should work.

Hang on a sec... i may appear to be a twat when I say this, but is 'stealth patching' not patching a game then??
because 4/11 have actually been stealth patched and they work fine on my Elite... or are you referring to a different kind of patch?

hes referring to a different patch. the patch he is talking about is the one i was stating earlier that allows wave 3 games to be played on older iextreme firmware. stealth patching and wave 3 patching are two different things.

So basically in a nutshell, just simplify it for me, what did my friend do wrong? So I can give him some feedback!
So basically ixtreme 1.6 will not allow you to play a game if it is not Wave 3 or (if the Wave 3 files are removed?) causing the xbox to give the 'Please insert disc into console error' - because this is what I was getting?
It all started out with that error and the xbox saying 'Play DVD' instead of 'Play Game' - so all this is related to Wave 3??
And lets say I want to download a game, which I assume all new ones now will be Wave 3, what should I do, just download the iso and check via ABGX its Wave 3?

what your friend did that makes your games not work is remove the wave 3 and replace it with a wave 2.
what he needs to do is after he downloads the games, burn you a copy before he patches it for the older firmware.
1.6 will play all waves of games, 1 2 and 3; as long as they are in the 'stock' form and havent been altered any way.
if you download your own games, just download, run through agbx to ensure they have all the stuff correct, SS PFI DMI CRCs, if the text is all green and blue, you are good to go, then just open up imageburn, select the .dvd file and burn onto good discs. please only use verbatiums.

Ok.. well I guess thats my first school boy error, being a Newbie I did not use Verbatims and purchased a stock set of 25 Ritek/Arita DVD+ DL, which is why i thought the problem might be with my choice of discs... so im guessing that I should:
1) Really stick to Verbatims
2) Download my own games and do ABGX etc
3i) Friend downloads iso of game
3ii) Friend DOES not patch the game..
3iii)Friend burns it to my disc as is ? Correct or am I baffled lol..
Just so my mind is at rest - is this why I was getting the Please insert disc into console error in the first place?

Also is there like a guide to get to know wot all this SS PFI DMI CRCs,?? etc is better.. so im not asking 101 questions...

Finally, just going back to:
i) Friend downloads - I assume he will download the already Wave 3 iso. all and that all games as default now ship out with Wave 3?
ii) Once he has this .iso and .dvd just needs to burn it to disc for me?
Why is it then 4/11 discs work? because they have also been patched...

those 4 play probably because they are older games that were originally wave 2 and didnt need patched.

The games that play if I run them through ABGX using the disc it should tell me if they are Wave 1,2,3? etc, one of the games was Burnout Paradise which works fine and is also stealth patched correctly.. I know this coz I ran it through ABGX this morning..
Also on another note, one of the games that failed was Virtual Tennis 2009, so I thought I would be clever (which obviously I wasnt!) and try and rip the .iso and .dvd file off the disc.. Img Burn gave me the .Iso and a MDS file << Is this the .DVD file?
When I ran just the .iso through ABGX I get:
'The iso is short 3653500928 bytes! Part of the game data is missing, should have been at least 7572881408 bytes'
Further down when it tries to do AutoFix I get:
'Failed to find or open 'Video_0E58FB9D.ISO' (No such file or directory). This is a very large video partition that isnt hosted on the database. You will have to find it elsewhere and put it in your stealth files folder.
Autofix Failed!
Does that mean its problems with the original iso that was downloaded? and that I cant just rip it off the disc?
