I just acquired a broken 360 with disc drive problems. I have been able to successfully dump the stock firmware with key. The drive won't eject on it with the button. I took the drive apart and watched it. it didn't spin and the laser didn't light up. I put in another broken lite-on drive i have and the green light stopped blinking. I also noticed the part that spins the disc spun when i booted it up. It has to be some issue with the drive itself. Should i just buy a new drive and flash the key and spoof it? Are the power sellers on ebay selling drives in china reliable?

The system usually blinks green like that, when it's ejecting or closing, and loading a game. Like my buddy had a retail copy of Halo 3 that was scratched up, and the system would just keep blinking at him, cause the drive was having a lot of trouble reading it.

So it could be the laser having issues.

the drive won't open or close when i press the button. I also watched the laser eye with the cover off and it moved but didn't light up. what else should i do?

sounds like the original drive is screwed i had 1 like that i just pulled the key of it and replaced the drive all is okay now

I got a Samsung in a trade with the same 'error'. Sadly, the PCB board was fried so had to pay to get it manually extracted but after that, bought a new drive and all is well.
