So, i have to flash a friends Benq drive, as well as my Lite-On drive. Have not done this in over 2 years. Back then i used some X360USB kit to do the lite-on. For the life of me, cannot remember what i did, but all i remember is it was all dos based. The benq, same thing, but did not use that usb kit, it was dos based,
So, i started looking around, and i want to make this as easy as possible. I looked at Jungle Flasher, and if i go that route, i assume i would have to get a VIA6421 SATA card, which is not a problem. Anything else i need if I go that route? running windows 7.
Some of the other methods, like mtkflash32, not too sure how involved they are, but i could go that route as well if it is not too involved. Make a long story short, looking to do both drives this weekend, hopefully be able to use the same method.
Can someone point me to the correct tutorial to get me going, assuming i have the 6421card, which i can get. My friend recently(4 months ago) did his Benq, and he said it was simple, but of course he has none of the files, and can't remember exactly what he did.
He mentioned he used mtkflash32, and it was easy as reading the firmware, craeting a new one, and writing it back to the drive. 3 clicks and he was done, which i find hard to believe. Looking at Jungle Flasher, it seems a lot more involed with that tutorial. Having to use some probe thingy, etc.

Jungle Flasher will help you get it done. As for the Lite-ON, the hack recently came available 8 months ago... so I'm guessing you have a different drive.
