I've just tried softmodding my Wii, but I don't think it has worked properly.

I cannot see the Bootmii link in homebrew, and I have only used a 512MB memory card, which I now understand is not suitable.

So, what do I do now. Will I have to uninstall homebrew dvdx and the bootmii sofware I have installed and start again with a 4gb card I have?

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Just so you know I got the install instructions from here

http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/Setting_up_your_Wii_for_Homebrew

Any and all help fully appreciated.

Do you have the latest Homebrew Channel installed?

Did it install on Boot2 or an IOS?

Hi,Thanks for replying.

I presume the download is the latest as I say I followed the instructions from the wiki.

Bootmii installed to Boot2.

As far as I know if it is installed as Boot2 you will not have it listed in the HBC exit menu (at least mine doesn't). It will only show up in the exit menu if Bootmii was installed as an IOS.

It should boot before the Wii System Menu starts if it installed to Boot2.

Did you happen to delete any files from your SD Card after you installed Bootmii? There should have been a Bootmii folder created with some system files in it to boot Bootmii. If you deleted that folder then Bootmii will not boot.

So you will need to run the Bootmii installer again and choose the Prepare SD card option so the folder and files can be written to the SD card again.

Don't delete the Bootmii folder again. If you don't want Bootmii to boot each time you turn on the Wii then transfer the Bootmii folder to your PC for safe keeping (delete the folder off SD Card after you transfer it) or edit the bootmii.ini file to autoboot into the system menu.

You also need to get a bigger SD Card if you want to backup your NAND.

Hi,

I have not yet deleted anything from the sd card, can I just transfer the files from the 512mb card to the 4gb card?

Do you have a Bootmii folder on the SD Card? Does Bootmii boot when you turn on the system?

Yes you can trasnfer everything over to a 4GB card.
