Hi, i used the twilight hack back when it was the only way to do it and all that. I then followed larrylje's excellent guide, and updated the HBC and patched the IOS's. I now have a PALWii on system 4.1e, with the latest HBC.
I am able to run Wii ISO's from a USB HDD. I am able to install and run WiiWare WAD's (using WAD Manager 1.5). I am able to install, but NOT run Virtual Console WAD's. I've tried about 6 different games. I also used freethewads to see if that'll help, but no luck. They all go to a black screen, and the Wii remote wont sync, and thats all i get. Have to switch off the console.
Is anyone able to help me get VC WAD's running please? I've searched for ages, and cant seem to find anything on this exact problem. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I have the exact same problem. I modded my friends wii and his works perfectly with Virtual console, but mines blackscreens like yours. I don't know what I did. Before I updated and soft modded my wii, the Virtual Console games worked perfectly with when installed with the Twilight hack.
I had one game come up saying "this channel cannot be used" i think it said. So i used freethewads, assuming its because its a NTSC WAD rather than PAL, and now it just black screens. So i'm wondering if freethewads is screwing up the WADs or if my Wii can't play downloaded WAD's, even if they are PAL or "FREE". :(
