Recently I flashed my xbox 360 which has a Hitachi 0078fk dvd drive. I managed to get it into mode b and flash it. Acording to the Maximus - FIRMWARE TOOLBOX V4.8 my dvd drive is running hacked firmware. I haven't played a burnt game on it yet, so I am not sure if it is actually working.
I have .iso and .dvd files for Red Faction. I open them in ImgBurn, paste the sectors from the dvd file ( I have tried without doing this aswell), set the burn speed to 2.4. When I burn it, it appears to work and is verified. After an inspection of the now burnt dvd in windows explorer and it contains 3 folders .

AUDIO_TS VIDEO_TS When I put the disk into my 360 it asks me if I want to "play dvd" when this is selected an xbox boot screen comes up and I am in dvd mode (I have dvd controls).
After reading a bit online I have come to the conclusion that this has something to do with the burning process. Also it seems that many people have been having this problem all over the internet and haven't seemed to find a solution.
By the way I am using Verbatim dvd +r dl Does anyone have any experience with this problem?
Bad image: Try using abgx360 (google it) to verify it's a good image.
You can also verify the disc. Make sure you check the Game Data and the stealth files. It could also be the wrong layer break. Set the layer break to 1913760 (I think) in the write options.
Bad Flash: Red Faction is a wave 3 game, make sure you are using iXtreme 1.51 (as high as Hitachi goes for now.)
Bad Key: If you somehow managed to flash the wrong key onto your 360 you will not be able to play any games. Try an original disc. If it plays it's either 1 or 2. Otherwise it's a bad flash with the wrong key. You need your original key and I hope you followed the directions and made 15 or 20 backups of it. :)
