modelno.RVL001(AUS)please help.I am currently running homebrew channel, wads, wiiware, backuploader, all with success.I'm wanting to protect myself from bricking. Have downloaded bootmii and installed to what seems to be successful. But when I reset console there is no bootmii as explained in the guide I followed. I heared some models aren't compatable for bootmii. Does preloader work in the same way? Have already done a nand backup. using yetanothernandbackup. please helpme.
thanks Wiiplayer

I tried boot2 first then went back to youtube and saw this guy do his install, He said something about it might not be compatable with all models-if so then you need to da it as an ios. Tried that but same thing. That's why I'm confused.Maybe I did something wrong?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLIhcwkSzLA Not sure if I pasted it right but here is the vid I watched. Just so you know my firmware version is 3.1E soft modded through twilight hack

You have to let us know what is actually the error.
When you get to the bootmii menu it should say if you can install it to Boot2 or if you have to install it as an IOS. If you can install it to Boot2 then do it.
If your still having issues then you need to tell us what the error is when trying to install Bootmii.
Go HERE and make sure your using the latest Hackmii installer that will installer.

I don't get an error. I follow the prompts and it all seems to work. But I thought I would get the bootmii screen when I restarted, but I don't.it doesn't tell me what I have to install it as.
The screen says: The test results are in:
using ios versions: nstaller:22, HBC: 22, DVDX: 22
the homegrew channel can be installed
DVDX can be installed
bootmii can be installed
continue

The screens are as follows
test results are in:
using ios versions: installer: 22, hbc: 22, dvdx: 22
the hbc: can be installed
dvdx can be installed
bootmii can be installed
continue
next screen:
main menu
install hbc
un hbc
install dvdx
un dvdx
bootmii...
view copyright
exit
I go to bootmii...
next screen
bootmii menu
install bootmii as boot2
un bootmii as boot2
install as ios
un as ios
prepare sd card
return to main menu
I then go to install bootmii as boot2
And have also tried at seperate time as ios
next screen
A bootmii install requires an sd card
I have an 2gb sd card that I am using for the hackmii install(otherwise empty,so plemty of room)
yes continue
next screen
says mountinr card...done.
install bootmii now?
yes
installing bootmii/bootmii2...
testing usable nand blocks...
erasing nand block 3
writing nand nand block 3
verifying nand block 3 to block 0 of bootmii
erasing nand block 4
writing nand block 4
verifying nand block 4 to block 1 of bootmii
success
continue
Then I go return to main menu
exit
it takes me to the hbc
I exit that
and restart console-only to see nothing but what I'v always seen...all my standard channels just the same.
hope you can tell what is wrong.
thanks wiiplayer

If you installed it to Boot2 then you should have a Bootmii folder at the root of the SD card with a few files in it.
If you don't see that folder then start the Bootmii installer again and choose prepare SD card.
If there is a Bootmii folder there delete it then start the Bootmii installer again and choose prepare SD card.
If Bootmii still still doesn't load before the Wii menu then you might need to try a different SD card.
If it can only be installed as an IOS then Bootmii will not boot at the start. You need to launch it from the Homebrew Channel about/exit menu.

Ok so here's where I went wrong: After each time I done an install I would exit out of the bootmii main menu> When what I should have been doing is-Going to the menu screen then holding down the power button on my consule. Then when I restarted the console the bootmii screen appeared. End result....I got it to work! THank you for your help.

There is no reason to have it installed as both. The best protection is to install it to Boot2 if you can.

Just wondering-should I do my nand back up through bootmii? Or can I stick with the nand back up that I had done previously through yetanothernanddumper? Before I installed bootmii. Is it going to give me the same back up if I need to use it?
Thanks.
