Sounds like it may be a media problem. What media have you been using?

My killer sig came courtesy of bb "El Jefe" mayo.

This seems to me to be a lazer problem with your reader. Buy your self a lens cleaner at a local Wal-Mart store and then always clean your disc with a solution of 50% alcholol and 50% water before reading them. Make sure you wipe them dry with a soft cloth. I use cotton cloth like mens underware and now all my discs read good. Remember if you cant read it no matter how good your burner is it wont burn it. I n my opion Samsung makes the best DVD Roms and CD Writers on the market. Samsung can read anything even scratched DVD. Hope this helps you with your problem

roswell,

How much compression are you having to apply and what burning program are you using?

NEC-2500A - Sony DVD-ROM
WinXP Pro w/ SP2, DVD Shrink - DVD Decrypter - Nero 7.x - CloneDVD2 & AnyDVD - DVD Fab - RipIt4Me

its usually on about 65-69%,and i use DVD Shrink to actually burn it to dvd,i do have Nero 6,i have not used this yet to burn, so would it be better to decrypt it first, then use Nero to burn?
i dont actually touch the compression part.

See if there are firmware upgrades to your burner and maybe try a different brand or type (DVD-R, etc) STAY FAR AWAY FROM MEMOREX MEDIA!!! I have a time with those beauties ;(

roswell,

If you're not using Nero you must be burning ISO files with DVD Decrypter by your settings in DVD Shrink. No problem there. If you're burning at 4x slow the burn speed down to 2.4x if you can and see if you get better results. Get some +RW discs to test with.

luck-
