Error 001 on a LU64 softmodded Wii (no modchip)

A friend of mine bought a LU64 Wii and softmodded it with the special fix for those models.
He installed "cIOS38_rev12" and NeoGammaR6 (the buckup channel shows NeoGamma R6, IOS249 (Rev 12) on the bottom).
The problem is, a lot of games give the 001 error. As far as I know, that problem occurs only when you have a modchip on the Wii but this one hasn't. Of course, the same discs work fine on another non LU64 softmodded Wii, so the discs aren't the problem.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Or at least, what causes it?

Try to update to cIOS38_rev14.

You can find the installer in my 4.1 softmod linked in my sig.

Sorry for posting about this on your blog.
What IOS should I choose when installing cIOS38_rev14?
I have already the IOS 249 which I got from installing rev12. Should I choose that one?
Also, for installing rev14, is it OK to everwrite rev12 or should I do something else before installing rev 14?

It dosent matter. It should default to IOS249 which is fine to use.
