I'm trying to figure all this out, if I switch drives that are both Benq phillips with white wires, one with firmware to replace mine without the firmware, they're the same but it won't work because I need something called the dvd key that is in the pcb board, correct?
Any pics showing where the pcb is? Is it easy to remove? There are websites that you can send your system to to get this done but I rather do this myself. Doing the flash is too confusing as I only know the basices for my PC. Would I be better to just learn all this stuff since they'll probably be wave 4 games at some point and I'll have to do all this again.
I have a regular never opened or modded system and I'd like to get into this but I'm looking to do this the easiest, cheapest way.
Also is this the exact type of discs I should buy?

All you need to do is flash your BenQ drive, you don't have to replace it. There are several tutorials out there that will explain the whole process. I suggest reading up a bit and come back if you have any technical issues. You can start with http://www.jungleflasher.net or there is a walkthrough for the BenQ linked in my signature.
I was asking about switching disc drives just because I think I could figure taking it apart more than dealing with the software stuff.
Thanks for the link to the discs.

Your stock BenQ drive contains a DVDkey specific to your 360 Motherboard. If you introduce a foreign DVD drive that does not contain your specific DVDkey, you will not be able to play games. So in order to play burned games, you must dump the firmware, spoof your drive specific info to iXtreme, and flash the custom firmware back to your drive.
So would that work if I had one benq flashed and one not flashed from my system, changed the pcb board then would I have a flashed disk drive that would work for my system?
