Hey all!

Okay, so I followed all of the steps for the Bannerbomb Exploit carefully. I downloaded aad1f_v108.zip and unzipped it onto the SD card as required. I made sure I had the latest version of the HackMii which is HackMii Installer v0.3. My Wii's serial number is: LU39 which was purchased yesterday from a Best Buy.

The pop up dialogue stating "Load boot.dol/elf?" does come up. Once I click yes, the screen is black and says this, "This software must not be sold, neither alone nor as part of a bundle. If you paid for this software or received it as part of a bundle following payment, you have been scammed and should demand your money back immediately. For further details see http://hbc.hackmii.com/scam"

It basically stays on this screen for a very long time to the point that I take it that it's frozen. While this screen is up, the led light on the Wiimote is on.

I even tried every other format:
aad20_v108.zip
aad22_v108.zip
aad1e_v108.zip
aad26_v108.zip
and nothing worked.

My friend was able to do it for his Wii which is an older version LU30. His works just fine with Homebrew but it's a different process from you. When he put his SD card in my Wii it would actually go really far into the installation process but it would suddenly freeze and turn off his Wiimote when he gets to WAD Manager 1.4 for the 2nd time when he has to change the IOS to 35. He is not able to change it to 35 because it completely shuts off the Wiimote. He even tried using his Gamecube controller and nothing. This is where we started searching for other alternatives and found your tutorial.

Aside from that I have spent two whole days watching tutorials for 4.0 and 4.1 Wii's on Youtube, threads, google, etc. Everyone makes it seem so simple (especially on the Youtube videos) and it never works for me. It always freezes up and I never get far. Although my Wii is version 4.0 and is supposedly hackable now--I fear that it may be too new to work with any hacks regardless. :(

I don't know what to do anymore at this point and really need someone's help out there.

Thanks!

Jen

try another sd card that might be your problem also dont forget to format to fat 16. If you are on 4.0 usa or pal which ever it maybe it is hackable. Even 4.1s are hackable now. Your main goal is to get the homebrew channel installed first. Since you dont have a modchip bannerbomber is the only method to work right now. Make sure your wii is hooked up through wifi or has a good connection without interuptions while downloading.

Hello there, i had this type of question myself at a point until i realized that if i push 1 on the wii remote it goes through ...

Did you try to press 1 for a couple of time when it has been on the screen for 1 or 2 minutes let say ..?

Keep the knowledge clean

Unfortunately, yes...I did try pressing one and two..etc..to see if ANYTHING worked. Nothing.

Honestly, the tutorial that I've gone the furthest with is as follows:

STEP ON COPY BB CARD 1 TO SDCARD OVERWRITE EVERYTHING MAKE SURE WII IS ON WIFI
SELECT THE 1ST OPTION LET IT RUN AND FINISH

[BB CARD 1: Private folder & Boot.dol]**this was successful**

STEP AFTER THAT IS DONE ERASE SDCARD AND COPY BB CARD 2 TO YOUR SD CARD RUN IT
THE WAD MANAGER IS BASED ON IOS35 BUT IT SHOULD SAY USING IOS35-2334312 OR SOME
SCRAMBLED NUMBERS ANYWAY INSTALL IOS35-64-1040 WAD EXIT WAD MANAGER THEN RUN IT
AGAIN THIS TIME INSTALL CIOS249REV9.WAD AFTER THAT INSTALL INSTALL NGL-YADA.WAD
THIS IS NEO GAMMA AUTO BOOT CHANNEL I MADE WHEN IT'S DONE EXIT WAD MANAGER

[BB CARD 2: Private folder, Boot.dol, & Wad folder]*******THIS IS THE POINT WHERE THE WAD MANAGER ACTUALLY LOADS BUT FREEZES. ALL I SEE IS A WHITE BAR AT THE TOP THAT SAYS "WAD Manager V1.3" and to the extreme right it says Teknoconsolas. Underneath that bar is all black.*******

STEP THREE ERASE SDCARD AND COPY BB CARD 3 TO YOUR SDCARD RUN IT YOU WILL SEE
WANINKOKOS REV14 INSTALLER POPUP FOLLOW THE PROMPTS IT WILL ASK WHICH IOS TO
USE MAKE SURE ITS IOS249 HIT A SELECT WAD INSTALLATION AND IT WILL SAY APPLYING
PATCHES WAIT FOR IT TO FINISH WHEN IT SAYS PRESS ANY BUTTON TO RESTART TAP A
AND YOUR DONE YOUR 4.0 WII IS SOFT MODDED

HELP!!! AGHHH! I have taken everyone's advice and tips as well as every simple tutorial out there. The only thing I haven't tried is upgrading to 4.1.

Evidently Bannerbomb is working since it is booting the hackmii installer. The issue seems to be the Hackmii installer itself. Have you tried redownloading the installer again or even try using v0.2 instead of v0.3 of the Hackmii installer?

Yup. That was one of the first things I did yesterday and pit failed once again. I was told by someone else that the problem may lie in the hackmii. I'm going to have to try it again later just pin case.

Where is the best place that I could find a legit 2.0 Hackmii installer?

Because with every simple tutorial I've tried there is always a fail after the scam popup. The tutorial I used above was the most successful because it allowed me to pass the scam popup screen. For the 2nd step in using the wad folder...that's where the screen freezes up now.

Now your making no sense. First you say you can't get past the Scam warning screen then you say you have.

Did you install the Homebrew Channel?

What guide are you using? A link would be better because your example of the guide in your above post sucks and is hard to understand.

I'm so sorry. This is what I mean...with most tutorials that people have out there for the 4.08 Wii's and beyond...my screen freezes at the scam warning where the [1] is supposed to pop up. Now, this lady sent me a tutorial where it actually gets PASSED the scam notice but still no luck because it freezes at the Wad Manager. Unfortunately the guide that I posted is the exact tutorial this woman gave me. I'm sorry "/ These are other tutorials I have tested out:K

Yup. They all failed. Right at the screen were I'm supposed to see a number 1 come up. The 1 never shows up and I have waited up to 20 minutes at one point and nothing.

Like I said earlier, that "crappy" tutorial I posted up was actually the one that worked the most for me.

Thanks for your help and I'm sorry for confusing you.

UPDATE!!!

This is exactly what happened..

I started using this tutorial: http://my.afterdawn.com/larrylje_redwin ... y.cfm/3809

Once I passed the Downgrade IOS35 in the instructions and had to run WAD manager, it froze. Then I saw that Larry (the maker of that tutorial) redirected someone who had the same problem as me to this tutorial: http://www.yafaze.com/forums/viewtopic.p...78&p=9923#p9923

..and since I already had the HBC installed, I started from step 7. Everything worked wonderfully but as I mentioned in the previous post, the DVD launcher won't work.

Any suggestions?

[EDIT]** Actually, I just realized that I didn't see this: (UPDATE) - CIOSrev14 is released.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=846QH0UP

I downloaded it and got error 702. I then tried to download this neogammar6.rar: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VUUNFNNU

This time I got error 972.

I'm beyond frustrated & feel that I either (a) Have to start from scratch (b) Attempt the LAUNCH BACKUP DISC FROM DISC CHANNEL or (c) Attempt the Wii USB Loader route

Any help would be greatly appreciated...you have NO idea. Thank you for being so patient and helpful.

if youve tried the tutorials and they dont work there is only two problems that might be causing it.

The sd card is corrupt or doesnt read fully. I suggest trying another SD card thats 4 gigs or less do not go 16 or on.

Get another version of hackmii.

if it still doesnt work you arent doing something right and i suggest you get a mod chip.

There have been 2 to 3 users out of the thousands that have used the guide that have had this issue. I don't know what else to tell you to do. It has me stumped.

I have been stuck on you first post for about a week now. "My friend was able to do it for his Wii which is an older version LU30. He even tried using his Gamecube controller and nothing." I can't select ios35, I don't know what is going on. I have modded other Wiis with ease. I saw that one post here that says format the SD to fat 16 and everyone else says fat 32, which is it and why does it matter if some stuff has worked under that format
? This is getting confusing.
