Hello I am trying to play metroid trilogy from a usb loader and a hdd that I have. I have many other games on there and have never had a problem playing a game until now. It starts off fine and when I choose a mode (i.e. single player mode) it says loading then it brings me back to the wii menu.

I am running 4.1U wii with a wiikey but I usually just put the games on my hdd to play them. Any suggestions would be appreciated. The last time I did anything to my wii was when I did the "safe update" to 4.0 then 4.1, not sure if there is some sort of ios I am needing or anything...

I've been reading in other places and apparently they are saying something about a .dol to start each game on the trilogy from usb... I have absolutely no idea what they are talking about. Does anyone know the layer break to just burn it to a dual layer disc?

When I tried burning with a layerbreak metroid prime 1 and 2 worked fine but 3 gave the 'disk cannot be read' error. I reburned without a layerbreak and its working great now.

Just use the alt dol setting in the usb loader that you are using. Works fine.

What USB Loader are you using? I just switched from usb loader gx to configurable usb loader. I was having a bunch of problems with gx that mysteriously when away when I changed to configurable usb loader.

Did you try switching the USB device to the other USB slot on the back of the Wii?

I was thinking cIOSv12 and above made the slot to the right (when looking at the USB Slots) the dedicated slot for USB Loaders. If you have it in the other slot it would not recognize your USB device.

@Kafluke

I did the same thing myself a few weeks ago.

Plugin your hdd in the other usb slot, that should work. Only one is working with the new usbloader GX & rev14.
