I have a BenQ Drive (unflashed), I want to flash it but don't have an external SATA card, also I don't wish to buy one (money's tight due to redundancy) - is it possible to connect the DVD Drive to my M/B's SATA ports or not?

Dont think that will work sorry. You may as well try it for nowt. Follow the BenQ guide in Leerage signiture above.

If it doesnt work, you will need a Via 6421a SATA card.

Okay I'll try and leave you kind folks feedback (as I'm sure it'll help someone in the future to know) it wont harm my drive to try though will it?

Well the M/B didn't work. No big deal so I bought the card I mentioned earlier but I can't get the drive to detect in Jungle and for some reason none of my Boot USB's are booting (yes the settings are changed in my BIOS) - this is driving me mad. I followed all guides in the sig above also.

go to the dvdkey32 tab and make sure the box is ticked that says include non ide ports
