i was wondering... if i chose to revert my drive back to original firmware, and MS was to release a update that contained a system check, or just decided to check my system, would they be able to detect that i ever touched the firmware. or would i be in the clear

while I agree with leerage, this is kind of a pointless question. It's not possible for us to speculate on what it is possible for microsoft to do in the future.
